Promoting Health and Dignity Through Hygiene
Through a massive donation of over 5,000 essential items and hands-on educational workshops, we empowered two key communities in Kumasi to build a healthier, more dignified future.
Overview
Access to basic hygiene is a fundamental right, yet many in unprivileged communities lack the resources and knowledge to maintain it. Our Hygiene & Health Initiative directly addressed this gap by visiting Cherubs Foundation and the Kumasi Children's Home. We combined a large-scale donation of critical supplies with practical education on personal and menstrual health, ensuring a sustainable, long-term impact.
- Audience: Children and caregivers at Cherubs Foundation and Kumasi Children's Home.
- Focus: Mass donation of hygiene products and conducting workshops on personal & menstrual health.
- Scale: Over 5,000 individual hygiene items distributed across two locations.
Objectives
This initiative was designed to achieve several critical goals:
- To immediately improve access to essential supplies like soap, toothbrushes, and sanitary pads.
- To increase health literacy around personal hygiene and break the stigma associated with menstrual health.
- To empower both children and their caregivers with the knowledge to prevent hygiene-related illnesses.
- To promote a sense of dignity and well-being among all participants.
Activities & Events
Our approach was two-fold: provide the tools and teach the skills. The day at each location was a blend of joyful giving and valuable learning.
- Massive Donation Drive: We distributed a huge stock of supplies to ensure the communities were well-equipped for months to come.
- Educational Workshops: Our team led interactive sessions on proper handwashing techniques, dental care, and overall bodily hygiene.
- Menstrual Health Education: We held sensitive and informative talks for all genders to demystify menstruation, covering the use of sanitary pads and promoting a supportive environment.
Impact & Metrics
The scale of the donation provided a powerful, immediate boost to the health and resources of both communities.
- 2,000+ units of soap distributed.
- 1,800+ toothbrushes and 450+ brushes provided for personal care.
- 1,500+ pieces of paper towels donated for general hygiene.
- 300+ sanitary pads supplied to support menstrual health and dignity.
- Two major community homes directly supported with supplies and education.

FAQ
Why is combining supplies with education so important?
Providing supplies solves an immediate problem, but education creates a sustainable solution. By teaching proper hygiene practices, we empower individuals to maintain their health long-term, even after the supplies run out.
How were the recipient communities chosen?
We partner with community leaders and existing organizations like Cherubs Foundation to identify groups where the need for hygiene resources is most critical and where our intervention can have the greatest positive impact.
